TMZ Report: Amber Portwood Met With Vivid

CYBERSPACE—It’s a big news day on TMZ.com—but isn’t every day? Today, however, marks the end of one story thread and the potential beginning of a new one. And both are of interest to the adult biz—though one much more so.

On the topic of endings, there was the sentencing of Dani Mathers, the former Playboy Playmate who ran afoul of the law as well as the court of public opinion back in July 2016. While at the gym, Mathers snapped a shot of a naked, 71-year-old woman preparing to shower—then shared it on Snapchat. She accompanied the post with a snarky caption, “If I can’t unsee this then you can’t,” and the internet exploded—blowing up her career.

The resulting social media furor was followed up by a criminal investigation and legal proceedings, which TMZ followed doggedly until today’s post about the final disposition of the case: “Mathers was in court Wednesday and copped a plea in her criminal invasion of privacy case. The judge told Mathers she could pick door #1 or door #2,” .

Behind those doors? 36 months of probation, preceded by either 45 days in jail or 30 days of graffiti removal. Mathers chose the latter, wisely. There’s a lot you might want to unsee in a prison shower.

In terms of new news, that came in the form of a post about Amber Portwood meeting with Vivid Entertainment honcho Steven Hirsch. , “Sources connected to negotiations tell us Amber and her boyfriend, Matt Baier, met with Vivid honcho Steven Hirsch in L.A. on May 8. We're told Hirsch had reached out to Amber in the past, and since she was already in town for the MTV Movie & TV Awards ... she decided to have the sit-down.”

Who is Amber Portwood? Those not in the know clearly don’t watch the reality TV phenom Teen Mom, which Portwood first appeared on in 2009. And, yes, she was on at the same time as Farrah Abraham, who had a very prominent stint in the Vivid sex tape spotlight.

If Portwood does take the porn plunge, that’ll be good news for TMZ. The site has a long and rich backlog of stories covering her brushes with drug abuse and incarceration.

It could also be good news for Vivid. The adult studio made two top sellers with Portwood’s former Teen Mom co-star: Farrah Superstar: Backdoor Teen Mom and Farrah 2: Backdoor and More.

Vivid has not yet commented on the story. However, Portwood and her boyfriend told TMZ, "The meeting with Steven and Vivid was very professional and low key."
