Rapper Machine Gun Kelly Enlisted as 2014 AVN Awards Music Act

Machine Gun Kelly said, “Our planet is a combination of Earth, wind, and fire. My mind is a combination of boobs, ass, and vagina. Thank you, thank you ... I'll be at the AVN Awards all night.”

Winner of the Apollo Theater’s iconic talent show in 2009, has quickly shot up the ranks as a rapper to be contended with. Earning Best Midwest Artist at the 2010 Underground Music Awards and Best Music Video at the 2010 Ohio Hip-Hop Awards before he was even 19, he won fan and critical acclaim with the 2010 release of his “Lace Up” mixtape—and also a deal with Diddy’s Bad Boy/Interscope record label. In October of the following year, his “Rage Pack” mixtape and accompanying “Wild Boy” single won Machine Gun Kelly MTV’s Hottest Breakthrough MC award for 2011.

Penning rapid-fire rhymes about everything from addiction to family issues, the punk/rock/rap-inspired performer is a symbol of relentless perseverance and has a die-hard fan base. The young MC’s catchphrase, “Lace Up,” is a call to arms, with many fans bearing “Lace Up” tattoos across the globe. Machine Gun Kelly is currently in the midst of an international tour promoting his second album, Black Flag, which was released on June 26, 2013; physical copies of the album are given away at his concerts in limited quantities.
