Depending which publicity hype you want to subscribe to, Arrow Productions' recent release, Bailey Montaine's XXX Pool Party, has supposedly been rejected by three major distributors for its "controversial and unsuitable content." The video, set around a summer conventioneers party in Las Vegas in July of 1999, stars Bailey Montaine, Capri Cameron, TJ Heart, Caroline Pierce, Sonja Red, Lauren Montgomery, Heidi Ho, Chris Cannon, and Brian Surewood and revolves around the Beavis and Butthead-esque antics of two deranged bull dykes (Red and Pierce) who unexpectedly crash the "sun 'n fun" event and turn it into what can best be described as an all-out sexual freak show.
Before the shoot, however, everyone who was to attend (including numerous industry insiders and porn VIPs) thought they were simply going to be a part of another stereotypical "porno pool party video" with free drinks, eager starlets, and plenty of contrived posing and lesbian sex, just as was promoted in the hundred or so VIP invites. That all changed when Ray Pistol, Arrow's owner and CEO, received a last-minute cancellation from the scheduled director a mere two days before the shoot.
Instead of postponing the project, however, Pistol turned to Thomas Zupko (who happened to be in his office, visiting from Los Angeles at the time) for help. Zupko, formerly with the The Evil Empire and the creative force behind the much-heralded Anal Ball and Pussy Crimes, agreed to take over the project, but only on his "terms." This mean totally changing the video. After a brief and vocal debate, Pistol reluctantly gave in to the director's demands.
"No offense against the myriad of cable-oriented directors and cable-greedy schlock in this business, " Zupko states, " but I'm never going to do safe generic garbage which is as disposable as the shit coming out of my ass. I proudly hand that honor to the industry darlings who would be little more than gophers or best boys in the mainstream film world. Maybe I pissed off a bunch of people on the set who were dreaming of free blow jobs or lap dances-including the chief still photographer-but who gives a fuck about these losers anyway? It's about the work itself and the fan, not the bloated egos of these sexually-deprived parasites. Sorry, guys.
The scene in question takes place in a surreal, garbage-strewn backyard where Deep, sitting on a toilet in the middle of the mess, compares the incessant complaining of his wife (Montaine, whose irritating voice rings in Deep's head like the crunching of Styrofoam) to the grunting, bowel-detonating activity at hand. After appearing poolside, Montaine approaches Deep who, already enraged by the piercing whining echoing in his brain, tells her simply to "shut the fuck up" and unceremoniously drives her head into his groin. Montaine sucks his cock savagely as Deep bounces her bobbing noggin off his meat hook like a tightly wound yo-yo, then proceeds to wrap her DD's around Deep's inflated flag pole, giving him a most memorable titty-fuck. This follows with Deep turning Montaine's tight cherry asshole into raw hamburger.
"It is shot almost like David Lynch," Zupko insists, "truly an unforgettable scene: hot, avant garde, and experimental. It's a goddamn shame that many fans out there will not be able to see it. Montaine's horny butt is so hungry for fucking dick, her asshole is like a motherfucking Venus flytrap-it made every male on the set want to snake his cock in between those luscious cheeks."
Other scenes which also caused concern were Red and Pierce literally assaulting a bewildered Lauren Montgomery (who looks like a deer caught in the headlights and would later complain about this unscripted, unexpected "attack") and Pierce's drunken debauchery of Cameron and Montaine, which ends with Pierce dunking-then holding-Montaine's head in the water. Needless to say, Montaine was not a happy camper.
"There is some killer shit in this flick," Zupko claims. "There are underwater sex scenes in it which are simply spectacular: blow jobs, fucking, pop shots... I don't know if or when this has been done before. There are night shots with a $1,000,000 Mormon Temple in the background which are simply breathtaking and Red and Pierce are almost Max Hardcore-esque in their performances. And needless to say, Surewood is...well...Surewood."
"According to Surewood, the main stud in all of Zupko's videos and also a business partner in Zupko's company, Apocalypse Productions, the shoot was intense and grueling. "It was intended to be a fun girl/girl pool party flick," the veteran horndog explains, "where I was supposed to be just a part of the crew, then Tom took it to another level, threw me, Chris Cannon, and a rubber whale into the mix and we had no idea where we were going. But I already expect that from him. He's an artist in the purest sense. Sometimes, though-much to my detriment-only he knows where it is going."
"Ya' know, no doubt I pissed a lot of people off, including some of the performers," Zupko concludes, "but the day I do something like all these other mediocre incompetents is the day I fucking retire. There are moments in this video which, in all modesty, are pure creative genius, shots which you never see in X. The final orgy is so surreal and bizarre it borderlines art. Yeah, it was a hard shoot with perhaps more than your usual problems, but the final product is vastly superior to most of what's being produced today. If any of the 'critics' out there don't get it, they can fucking blow me. That's all I ask is that the fans judge for themselves and demand to see the vid. Order direct if your stores won't carry it."
Pistol adds: "I might not agree with everything Tom does, but he is kind of like a perverted mad scientist. More importantly, Bailey Montaine's XXX Pool Party is certainly not a video which should be banned or censored."
